Concept in development01 / The idea
A friendly doorway into connected intelligence.
Designed for children aged 3–8 around three connected territories—climate change, environmental degradation and emergencies—Earthtronauts is one visible, playful expression of CHILD, not a separate initiative.
Stories make knowledge memorable. The Earthtronauts can help children and families understand a changing planet, prepare for hazards, practise wise choices and discover their own agency.
The same world can equip educators, caregivers, communities and local actors with adaptable stories, play, missions and practical learning connected to real situations.
Reality, transformed with care
Every story will begin with something that truly happened.
Emergencies may be climate-related, such as cyclones, floods or extreme heat, or arise from other hazards, such as earthquakes and earthquake-generated tsunamis. From Nepal to Banda Aceh, real events—and the lessons people drew from them—will ground each adventure.
Children and adults from every layer of society can be represented: families, teachers, responders, health workers, local leaders, neighbours and many others. Identities and personal details will be anonymised, and each account will be carefully researched, locally informed and adapted for children with dignity, sensitivity and hope. Reality will not be sensationalised; it will help the next generation understand, prepare, remember and act more wisely.

The Storm and the Songbird
In the coastal village of Lihiniya, three-year-old Maya sings to her toy bird as a cyclone approaches.
Children notice the warning signs, map a route to higher ground, help uncover blocked drains and bring what they see to the adults around them. The Earthtronauts do not arrive to rescue everyone. They help the community listen, prepare and act together.
